Catfish is usually enjoyed at the local bar and also during cold weather. It is also one of the most popular fish pepper soup in Nigeria. whereas it just takes up to 30-40 minutes to prepare.

Cat fish is one of my favorite comfort meal that is easy to make. Catfish is also called“ point and kill” because of how it is been picked up at the local market.

INGREDIENTS

• Cat fish
• 1 tablespoon Black pepper ground
• 1 small Onion
• Scent leave or utazi any one of ur choice
• 1 tablespoon of tin tomato(Sonia or Gino) for that sweat red color
• Yam or ripe plantain
• ½ Ground pepper soup spices
• Salt (pinch)
• 2½ knorr cube (not chicken but ordinary knorr)
• 1½ Crayfish ground( important ingredient while cooking your cat fish)

PROCEDURE

The most important part of preparing cat fish is not the ingredients but how it is been washed.

Cut your cat fish in how many size as you want, remove the things inside of the cat fish head making sure that it doesn’t burst to avoid it from tasting bitter, once that is already done.

Boil your water in a pan then pour the water into the cat fish and turn it with a wooden spoon to remove the slippery dirt on it and pour away then add cold water turn again and pour away set aside.

In a pot add your washed cat fish, add water that is at the same level of the fish, add your tomato, black pepper, onion, knorr cube, pinch of salt, ground pepper soup spices, crayfish, cover and allow to cook for 15 minutes.

Open your pot add the sliced ripe plantain cover and allow to cook for another 10 minutes, please remember not to turn the fish so as for it not to scatter.

You will know the cat fish is ready, when it has given u that thickness and Color u want, don’t forget to add your scent leaves at this point cover and allow to cook for 1 minute. Tada your cat fish is ready.

It can be best served with white rice, and agidi. This is not like the recipe you see online, try this recipe and thank me later.
